Hala Back Girl

I’m a big fan of Middle Eastern food, well any food with the influence of the Mediterranean. I  love mezes , donairs, feta et al (though not a big fan of olives).

In my time in Istanbul, I noticed there there were a ton of Halal restaurants and donair places … pretty much at every corner. Many Turkish people revel in the importance of a good donair that is quick and easy yet made with fresh vegetables and bread (and of course perfectly spiced meat).

I came across this delectable brand identity from Hala, a Middle Eastern restaurant based out of Florida (images via Layman’s Layout).

Hala (which means  “Sweetness” in Arabic) perfectly fused Arabic influenced typography in a simplistic setting. The “H” is perfectly ornate to invoke the idea of Arabic artwork all packaged in a tight brand identity. I’m totally *hearting* the typography and design!
